Soccer
The club was started as a social sports club to assist Zimbabwean immigrants socialise, network and help each other adjust and assimilate into Australian life through sport. From humble beginings in Carrum Downs and many losses on the field in 2007, the club has rapidly grown and has helped players and supporters alike build solid community relationships, social skills and embrace cultural diversity, and now fields a competitive team that has enjoyed success against several local multicultural teams.
They have gone on to win the Out Of Africa Cup 2009 held on the 24th of January 2009 at Edinburgh Gardens in Fitzroy North. This year 2009 the Zimvic Soccer Club has the privilege of hosting the ZimPride Interstate Soccer Tournament after winning the inaugural event held in Canberra in October 2008.
