About The Event
The festival aims to create a space where all youth feel welcomed, valued, and included, regardless of their background.Tackling issues like: Lack of Cultural Understanding and Appreciation: We are facing limited opportunities for young people to learn about and appreciate different cultures, leading to stereotypes, prejudice, and misunderstandings. The festival provides a platform for cultural exchange, education, and celebration, promoting mutual respect and understanding among youth from diverse backgrounds. Bullying and Peer Pressure: Bullying, cyber bullying, and peer pressure are significant challenges that many young people are facing in our community and it is negatively impacting their mental health, self-esteem, and well-being. The festival promotes a culture of inclusivity, acceptance, and respect, helping to combat bullying and create a supportive environment where young people feel safe to be themselves. Identity Exploration and Acceptance: Adolescence is a critical period for identity formation, and young people may struggle with issues related to their identity, including gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, religion, or cultural heritage. The festival provides opportunities for young people to explore and affirm their identities in a supportive and affirming environment, free from judgment or discrimination. Lack of Youth Engagement and Leadership Opportunities: Many young people feel disengaged from their communities and lack opportunities to participate in decision-making processes or take on leadership roles. The festival empowers young people to become active agents of change, providing opportunities for them to contribute their ideas, talents, and energy to projects that address issues affecting their lives and communities.
